In Islamic theology, life in this world is ephemeral and a test for all beings to see if they are able to enter Paradise. In this talk, Dr. Zeki Saritoprak will examine three main themes related to his upcoming book, Islamic Eschatology. Dr. Saritoprak, will begin by examining the Islamic understanding of death and what happens when an individual dies. From this he will look at the chain of events that leads to the resurrection of all of human souls and what will happen on the Day of Judgement. Finally, Dr. Saritoprak will look at Paradise and hell in the Islamic tradition and what the Qur’an and hadith say about the eternal abodes.
