Book talk with Bradley Steffens, an award-winning author who will introduce “ The First Scientist :Ibn al-Haytham” in first full biography.

Bradley Steffens is a novelist, poet, and award-winning author of more than sixty nonfiction books. In 2007, his biography of J.K. Rowling received the Theodor S. Geisel Award for best book by a San Diego County author that year. His First Scientist: Ibn al-Haytham, the first full biography of the eleventh-century Islamic polymath to be published in the West, was excerpted in Discovery Channel Magazine. Physicist, author, and BBC host Jim Al-Khalili praised First Scientist, writing: “This new coffee table edition of Steffens’s biography of Ibn al-Haytham is a thing of beauty, with stunning photographs and illustrations adding to the scholarly yet accessible biographical text.”
